now you get to know [some of] my real thoughts...

Blake had today off so it was nice to have him in
church. Afternoon church is so
lousy--James has just had it at 5.
Andrew came for dinner. Isaac and
I went to Anna's birthday cake and ice cream at 6:30 and Blake put James to
bed. I had a nice time chatting with the
moms and Isaac had a good time trying on Anna's pink tutu and bunny ears and
using the play straightener to do Anna's hair.

I traded babysitting with Cynthia this morning to
exercise. After that I hosted
preschool. Everyone had a good time and
I almost was patient the whole time. We
did the letter K. Even James always gets
excited for preschool.

Cynthia came over this morning to trade babysitting for
exercising. James and Isaac get so
excited to see baby Michael. They spend
the whole time wanting to hold him and looking at what he's doing. Isaac tells me every day he wants to have a
baby sister. Apparently he told Cynthia
we were going to have a baby sister. But
not yet, his mommy's tummy wasn't going to get bigger yet. How embarrassing! I'm not pregnant! Blake had the day off. We went up to the outlets and got some good
deals for Blake at Gap and I bought a couple books. This evening Andrew was nice to babysit for
us while we went to a movie. He was
coming over to do his laundry anyway.

Blake got home really early at 9:45 and we had just
finished cleaning the bathrooms and vacuuming (kids helped because they are
SOOO good). So we loaded the kids' bikes
in the car and went to

Blake was pre call today and didn't have a lot to do
at the hospital plus it was Martin Luther King Jr day and his clinic was
cancelled so he didn't have to go in today!
It was great to get another surprise day off. We didn't do much--Blake and I both read a
lot, I was able to go to the gym, and we went to the mall for an hour to change
the scenery. The kids always love to
play on the things there. Their favorite
is the ice cream truck and they pretend to give me ice cream over and over and
take my $20. Blake got me a new car battery and installed
it. What a handy man.

Cynthia bailed on exercising this morning. I made the kids watch while I did a
video. Isaac did it with me. James said, "Hold you, hold you"
and "All done, mommy." He did
not want to watch. Isaac liked watching
the "whole thing, mommy". He
lasted maybe 5 or 10 minutes using my old 3 lb weights. We went to story time at the library. After that my visiting teachers came over. Their kids combined with my kids always end up
making a huge colossal mess. Isaac even
brought down all his clothes from his drawers and added them to their
"moving truck" pile. I looked
at Isaac after they left and said, "You need to clean all this up before
you can watch a movie." So he
did. James helped a little and they took
a break to eat some lunch but they actually didn't even complain and cleaned it
all up. I read while they did it. Yes, my kids are so good. Then
James thought he got to watch a movie too so I let them watch a Chuggington
together before James took a nap. It's
sad that now James is wanting to watch movies too. [usually just Isaac watches 20 minutes of a show after James goes down for a nap.]

Blake was on call today. I played with the kids this morning--lately
James likes to put cars in the school bus and pretend they are going to
school. And Isaac played with the Little
People silo and pretended it was a rocketship.
Also they both like to pretend they are my little babies and I need to
rock them and give them bottles. And
Isaac likes to sit in between my legs with a blanket over him and pretend my
tummy is getting bigger and bigger and out comes a baby! Oh, the games we play. [like all of Isaac's friends have had baby brothers in the last couple months.]

Isaac is being so sweet lately and will come
up to me and say, "Mommy, I just love you." I talked with his primary
teacher after class and she said she was having a hard time and none of the
kids wanted to sit in their seats or listen to a lesson but Isaac did very
good. She said she would have to sit
down with me and hear my parenting tips (she just adopted a little girl).

This morning I went to the gym because Blake was home. When I got home the kids wanted to make
cookies with the heart cookie cutters Andrew gave us yesterday from mom. It took forever and all my patience! But the kids loved it. Even James loved it. Then we got cleaned up and went to a new
park. Isaac is forever asking to go to a
new park. We went to Carondelet park and
walked by a little lake and up to a playground.
Somehow it always turns into a chasing game with Isaac. But we had fun. Someday maybe James will run by himself
instead of begging to be carried. This afternoon we did puzzles. Blake remembered the train puzzles James got
for Christmas on Thursday and James has been obsessed with them ever
since. As soon as he wakes up he wants
to do puzzles. When we're downstairs, he
wants to go upstairs to do puzzles. He
loves loves loves them. It's pretty cute
and he does pretty good. Definitely with
help though. right there. no, upside down. not that one yet.

Blake was on call today. We woke up to 6 inches of snow. We couldn't resist and spent an hour outside
in it. But we at least didn't sled. We did playdough and puzzles after that. Isaac was doing so good to put puzzles
together all by himself while I helped James.
I was so impressed with him. Today
in Primary we had a lesson on Joseph Smith's first vision and it was
recommended to watch the film. This
evening Isaac kept telling me stories about working hard and making fences and planting
and working hard and cutting sticks and working hard. It was so cute. The nursery people told me James was so tired he didn't
play during playtime but just lay down on a blanket. Poor guy.
Lousy afternoon church. We walked
to and from church in the snow and the kids did so good to walk. Even James was walking holding my hand and liking
stepping in the snow while I walked on the cleared path.
I'm sorry, was that so super boring? I think I say "it was so cute" a lot.
Here are some pictures. Going to the zoo with friends:
I recently invested in a new[er] jogging stroller. This one has seen much better days, even way before I bought it on craigslist. we're excited to use the new one, but a little sad to get rid of this old piece of junk that has served us well for three years.
Just playing some baseball:
swing!
Isaac cracks me up.
Watching the bus one day.
mmm, smoothies.
Escaping the cold and playing at the church one morning. James loves nursery so much he will even sit still to pretend he's in nursery. Especially when his older brother directs him to.
This was Isaac's favorite thing about playing at the church.
Wrestling with dad one night.
and a nice blurry one to end on.

Haha...I totally don't blame you for almost giving up on my blog. The only reason I started again was because my neices beg for pictures of Alexis. Your boys are getting so big! Any trips planned to SLC? I haven't seen you forever!
